Leo & Son Auto Repair is a family owned and operated business, serving the Merrimack Valley since 1975. Leo & Sons first opened its doors in 1975 at 505 South Broadway in South Lawrence, and later expanded to its current location at 157 South Broadway in 1981. The mission of Leo & Sons is to demonstrate its commitment to safety, service, and community to each and every customer that trusts their vehicle repair and maintenance to Leo & Sons technicians. Leo & Sons is proud to hold the best certifications and credentials available in the industry and has been a AAA Auto Approved repair center since 1982 and a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Transportation approved safety and emissions inspection station since 1979. The technicians at Leo & Sons also hold individual certifications from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Leo & Sons is an active member in the local Merrimack Valley community and serves as a member of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Mill City and Merrimack Valley chapters of Business Network International.

Our People:

Leo Lamontagne – Owner

Leo Lamontagne is a lifelong resident of South Lawrence and currently lives in the Mount Vernon neighborhood. After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1972, Leo studied Automotive Repair at Greater Lawrence Technical High School, where he now serves on the School Committee — a position he has held for over 30 years. Leo founded Leo’s Auto Repair in 1975, at the age of 19. In 1981, Leo married his high school sweetheart, Debbie,and later changed the name to Leo & Sons Auto Repair in 1986 after the birth of his sons, Leo III and Matt. Leo built his business around his passion for cars and the community. In addition to serving the next generation of automotive technicians through his role at the Greater Lawrence Technical High School, Leo has also been an ASE-certified Master Technician for 20 years. In his free time, Leo enjoys playing golf at the Merrimack Valley Golf Course, watching Red Sox games, and traveling across the county in his RV to attend NASCAR races.

Matthew Lamontagne – Technician

Matt Lamontagne grew up in his father’s auto repair shop and has lived and breathed automotive technology since he can remember. Matt grew up less than a mile from the shop in South Lawrence and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2005. After high school, Matt attended University of Massachusetts Lowell and then studied Automotive Repair, specializing in Chassis Fabrication, High Performance Engines, and Street Rod Fabrication, at WyoTech in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. Since graduating from WyoTech in 2007, Matt has taken a leadership role at Leo & Sons and is personally committed to providing the best possible experience to each and every Leo & Sons customer. Matt is an ASE Certified Master Technician — a rigorous certification that is held by minority of elite automotive technicians — and holds L1 (Automotive) and L3 (Hybrid) Advanced Level ASE Certifications. Matt specializes in diagnosing and repairing hybrid and electric vehicles and is also holds a Master Hybrid Technician certification by Automotive Career Development Center. When he’s not working after hours, Matt is usually hiking with his dog, Remy, or enjoying live music.

Buddy Dizoba – Technician

Edwin “Buddy” Dizoba is a Methuen native who has been with Leo & Sons for over 25 years. Buddy graduated from Methuen High School in 1974 and ITT Tech in 1975. He lives in Salem, New Hampshire with his wife, Debbie, and together they have raised three daughters. Buddy specializes in automotive services for both foreign and domestic vehicles and has been ASE certified over for 25 years. In his free time, Buddy enjoys rooting for The New England Patriots and playing golf.
